Terms of service
Last updated: 23 October 2026
These terms govern the use of Quizhat (quizhat.app). By creating an account or purchasing a plan you accept them; if you take part in a quiz without an account, only the fair use rules in section 8 apply. We recommend that you keep a copy (you can print this page).
1. Who provides the service
Quizhat is provided by FESTALAUREA SRLS, Via Luigi Mascherpa 18, 35131 Padova (PD), Italy, VAT no. 05743150285. Contact: email festalaurea.info@gmail.com, certified email (PEC) festalaurea@pec.it. The email address is also the single point of contact for authorities and for users under Articles 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on digital services (Digital Services Act); you can write to us in Italian or in English.
2. The service
Quizhat is an online service for creating quizzes and playing them live or remotely: the host shows the questions on a screen and participants answer from their phones with a code or a link, without an account. In Test mode Quizhat records the answers by name and prepares reports, the official record of the learning assessment and, in the plans that include them, certificates. The features available depend on the plan, as described on the Pricing page.
Quizhat is a tool: responsibility for the course, the assessment and its results remains with whoever organises them (see section 10).
3. Account
- To create an account you must be of legal age and provide true and up-to-date information. You can register with an email address and password or with a Google or Microsoft account.
- If you use Quizhat for a company, a school or an organisation, you declare that you have the authority to accept these terms on its behalf; in that case the terms also apply to the organisation.
- Keep your credentials safe: you are responsible for the use of your account. If you think someone is using it without permission, change your password and write to us immediately.
- The account is personal. The Organisation plan is designed for an organisation with several trainers, within the limits stated on the Pricing page.
4. Plans, prices and payments
- Free: no expiry and no card required, with the limits stated on the Pricing page (including 30 participants per session, 5 own quizzes and public quizzes in the library).
- Trainer: €24 + VAT per month (€29.28 incl. VAT) or €228 + VAT per year (€278.16 incl. VAT). Organisation: €79 + VAT per month (€96.38 incl. VAT) or €790 + VAT per year (€963.80 incl. VAT). The prices shown at the time of purchase apply.
- VAT: for consumers the price payable is the price including VAT (Italian VAT at 22%; for consumers in other EU countries Italian VAT applies as long as our sales to EU consumers remain below the EU threshold of €10,000 per year, after which the VAT of their country applies, as shown on the checkout page). For businesses and professionals prices are exclusive of VAT: Italian VAT at 22% is added. For businesses in other EU countries with a valid VAT number (verified in the VIES system) the invoice is issued without VAT, under the reverse charge mechanism (art. 7-ter of Presidential Decree (DPR) 633/72); Italian VAT does not apply to customers outside the EU. VAT and the total payable are shown on the checkout page before you confirm.
- Free trial: the Trainer plan can be tried once for 14 days, without a card. At the end of the trial the account returns to the Free plan: the trial does not turn into a paid subscription by itself.
- Payment: subscriptions are paid in advance, for the month or the year, through Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Limited), using the payment methods offered on the checkout page. On the checkout page you enter your billing details (for businesses the VAT number and the SDI recipient code or PEC address, for private individuals the Italian tax code (codice fiscale)). For businesses and professionals we issue an electronic invoice, transmitted through the Sistema di Interscambio (SDI, the Italian e-invoicing exchange system) (to foreign customers, who do not use the SDI, we send it by email). For private individuals the payment is documented by the receipt sent by Stripe, as provided for electronic services supplied to consumers (art. 22 of Presidential Decree (DPR) 633/1972); if you want an electronic invoice, choose “Yes” to the invoice question on the checkout page and enter your tax code: you will receive it in your reserved area on the website of the Agenzia delle Entrate (Italian Revenue Agency) (Fatture e Corrispettivi) and, as a copy, by email.
- The paid plan is activated as soon as the payment is confirmed. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries the charge for a limited period; if the payment does not arrive, the subscription ends and the account returns to the Free plan, without losing quizzes and reports.
- Price changes: a new price applies from the next renewal and we notify you of it by email at least 30 days in advance; if you do not accept it you can cancel before the renewal.
- Event Pass: €12 + VAT (€14.64 incl. VAT), a one-off payment through Stripe, with the same billing details and the same VAT as subscriptions. From the moment the payment is confirmed and for 7 days the account has up to 200 participants per session, the organisation's logo on the big screen and all question types with images; it then returns to its own plan, without losing quizzes and reports. A new Pass purchased before expiry is added to the remaining days. The Pass does not renew: there is nothing to cancel. In the event of a full refund the Pass is deactivated (the days of any other Passes purchased remain).
5. Renewal and cancellation
- Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically on expiry for an equal period, at the same price except as provided in section 4, until you cancel them.
- You can cancel at any time, free of charge, from the Plan page of your account (“Manage subscription”). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid: until then the plan remains active, after which the account returns to the Free plan.
- Apart from the cases in section 6 and those provided for by law, periods already started are not refundable, not even in part.
- When you return to the Free plan you do not lose your quizzes: the limits of the Free plan apply (for example, reports older than 30 days cannot be viewed until you return to a paid plan, but they are not deleted).
6. Consumers' right of withdrawal
If you purchase as a consumer (a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade or profession), you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of its conclusion (that is, from the confirmation of payment), without giving any reason, under Articles 52 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005).
- How to withdraw: send us an explicit statement before the deadline, by email to festalaurea.info@gmail.com or by PEC to festalaurea@pec.it. You can use the withdrawal form below, but it is not mandatory. We will confirm receipt by email.
- Immediate performance: by subscribing you expressly request that the service begin immediately, during the withdrawal period (art. 50(3) of the Consumer Code). For this reason, if you withdraw, we refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the service provided up to the moment you notify us of your withdrawal (art. 57(3)). For example, if you withdraw 5 days into a monthly subscription, we refund the part of the price corresponding to the remaining days. The same applies to the Event Pass: by purchasing it you request that it begin immediately, and the refund is the part of the price for the days of the Pass not yet elapsed.
- Refund: within 14 days of the day we receive the notice of withdrawal, using the same means of payment used for the purchase, at no cost to you. On withdrawal the subscription ends and the account returns to the Free plan.
- For consumers, the legal guarantees on the conformity of digital services (Articles 135-octies et seq. of the Consumer Code) remain unaffected.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to those who purchase for professional purposes (for example with a VAT number, as a trainer, practice, organisation or company).
7. Your content and the public library
- Your content remains yours. You grant us only a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, reproduce, technically adapt (for example resize images) and display it in order to operate the service, for as long as it remains on Quizhat.
- Public library: on the Free plan the quizzes you create or import are public. You license a quiz published in the public library to anyone under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, shown on the quiz page: anyone can view, play, copy and modify it, including outside Quizhat, provided they credit the author. Your account name appears next to the quiz as its author. If your account email has not yet been confirmed, the quiz enters the library only after confirmation.
- Private quizzes: on the Trainer and Organisation plans you can make a quiz private, visible only to you. A quiz that is already private stays private even if you return to the Free plan; on the Free plan you can make it public but not private again. Making a quiz private removes it from the library, but the CC BY licence cannot be revoked for copies others have already made.
- Warranty of rights: by entering, publishing or importing content (including from files or other services) you warrant that you are its author or hold the rights needed to use it on Quizhat and, if the quiz is public, to license it under CC BY 4.0; and that the content does not infringe third-party rights (copyright, trade marks, image rights, privacy) or the law. For YouTube videos, YouTube's terms also apply.
- Indemnity: if you use Quizhat for professional purposes, you indemnify us against third-party claims arising from content you have entered in breach of these terms, including reasonable legal costs. For consumers, liability as provided by law applies.
- We do not check content before publication and have no general obligation to monitor; we act on illegal content when we become aware of it (section 8).
- The sample quizzes and the library content created by Quizhat are also published under the CC BY 4.0 licence, unless otherwise stated. The Quizhat trade mark, logo, graphics and software remain the property of FESTALAUREA SRLS.
8. Fair use and reports
You may not use Quizhat for:
- content that is illegal, offensive, discriminatory, that incites hatred or violence, pornographic, or that infringes the rights of others;
- collecting unnecessary data or special categories of data (for example about health) from participants, or using quizzes for purposes other than training, teaching, assessment and entertainment;
- spam, unsolicited advertising or activities that disturb other users;
- attempting to circumvent the limits, plans and security of the service, accessing other people's data, overloading the servers or extracting content by automated means beyond the use permitted by the licence of public quizzes.
Reports: anyone can report a quiz in the public library with “Report this quiz” at the bottom of the quiz page, or by writing to us, stating the quiz and the reason why they consider the content illegal or contrary to these terms. We examine reports diligently and without delay.
Measures: if content is illegal or breaches these terms, we may remove it from the library, make it invisible or delete it and, in serious or repeated cases, suspend or close the account. Decisions are taken by a person, not by automated systems. We inform the author of the decision and the reasons for it (art. 17 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065) and anyone concerned can contest it by replying to the email: we will review the decision. We also inform the person who made the report, if they left us a contact.
9. AI features
- The AI features (questions from a text or a document, quiz translation) use an artificial intelligence model from an external provider (Anthropic) and are available within the monthly limits of the plan.
- The questions and translations proposed are a draft: they may contain errors, inaccuracies or ambiguous wording, and must always be checked by whoever publishes or uses the quiz, who remains responsible for them.
- Send the AI only texts and documents that you have the right to use, and avoid including personal data. Participants' data is never sent to the AI.
10. Tests, official records and certificates
- The trainer or organisation chooses the questions, the pass mark, the data to request and the arrangements for the test, and checks that the test, the official record and the retention of documents comply with the rules applicable to their course (for example Legislative Decree 81/2008 and the State-Regions Agreement on occupational health and safety training).
- Quizhat is not a training provider, does not certify courses and does not guarantee that a test is valid for a specific training obligation: quizzes support training, they do not replace it.
- The certificate generated by Quizhat certifies that the test taken on the platform was passed and is issued by the trainer indicated: it is not the certificate of attendance and learning assessment required by law, which is issued by the training provider. The trainer can revoke it; the public verification page shows its status.
- Anti-cheating indicators (for example leaving the page) are signals for the host, not proof: assessments are for the trainer to make.
- We recommend that you download important official records and reports and keep them in your own file: storage in the Quizhat archive is an additional service and does not replace the training provider's retention obligations.
11. Participants' data
For the data you collect from participants in your sessions, you, or the organisation on whose behalf you act, are the data controller; Quizhat is the data processor on your behalf. The relationship is governed by the Data Processing Agreement (art. 28 GDPR), which forms an integral part of these terms and which you accept together with them. You must inform participants (including about emails being sent and follow-ups), have a legal basis for the processing, request only the data you need and, for minors, comply with the rules of the school or organisation. For everything else, the Privacy policy applies.
12. Service availability
- We do our best to keep Quizhat always available and working properly, but we do not guarantee a minimum service level: there may be interruptions for maintenance (which, where possible, we schedule at times of low use and announce), faults, problems with providers or with the network at the venue where the game is played. For an important test we recommend trying the session beforehand and having an alternative.
- We may modify, improve or remove individual features. If we remove an essential feature of a paid plan in progress, we will notify you and you can cancel with a refund of the unused part of the period.
13. Liability
- We are liable for damage caused by the non-performance or improper performance of our obligations, within the limits of this section.
- If you use Quizhat for professional purposes: we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable damage (for example loss of profit or loss of opportunity) and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event (for the Free plan, €100).
- These limitations do not apply in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence (art. 1229 of the Italian Civil Code), to personal injury, or where the law does not allow them. If you are a consumer, all the rights granted to you by the Consumer Code remain unaffected.
- We are not liable for content entered by users, or for the use the trainer makes of tests, official records and certificates.
14. Suspension and termination
- By you: you can delete your account at any time from the Account page (if you have an active subscription, cancel it first). Beforehand you can download your data and reports. Deletion immediately erases the account, quizzes, reports and participants' data, as described in the Privacy policy.
- By us: we may suspend or close an account in the event of a serious or repeated breach of these terms, unlawful use or a risk to the security of the service or of other users, notifying you of the reasons and, where possible, before acting. If we close a paid account through no fault of yours, we refund the unused part of the period.
- We may stop offering Quizhat with at least 60 days' notice by email, during which you will be able to download your data; for periods paid and not used we refund the remaining part.
15. Changes to the terms
We may change these terms for justified reasons, for example changes to the features, the providers or the law. Significant changes are notified to you by email at least 30 days in advance and apply from the next renewal; if you do not accept them you can cancel or delete your account before they take effect, at no cost. Changes required by law or that do not disadvantage you may apply immediately. The date of the last update is at the top of the page.
16. Governing law, jurisdiction and complaints
- These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer resident in another country of the European Union, you retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of your country.
- Consumers: disputes fall within the jurisdiction of the court of the consumer's place of residence or domicile, if in Italy (art. 66-bis of the Consumer Code).
- Professionals and organisations: the Court of Padua has exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.
- Complaints: write to us at festalaurea.info@gmail.com; we reply within 15 working days. Consumers may also apply to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body registered in the lists provided for by art. 141-decies of the Consumer Code; FESTALAUREA SRLS is not obliged to and has not undertaken to use any specific body. The European ODR platform for online disputes has no longer been active since 20 July 2025 (Regulation (EU) 2024/3228).
- If any clause is found to be invalid, the others remain valid.
